Networking security vendor Forescout has appointed former Venafi Asia Pacific director Terrie Anderson to lead its Australia and New Zealand operation.

Anderson replaces Adam Gordon, who previously held the role of country manager A/NZ for one and a half years before taking on regional leadership of Gigamon in January.

In her new role, Anderson will be tasked with driving awareness of internet of things (IoT) security, IT and operational technology (OT) convergence and compliance risks.

She will also work with partners to help them offer value-add to enterprise and public sector organisations, Forescout said.

“IT/OT convergence is becoming a hot topic with CIOs as they are increasingly required by boards to take responsibility for the entire security strategy that also includes OT networks,” she said. “With the explosion of volume and diversity of IP connected devices within enterprise environments, particularly with the IoT and OT, it’s a huge challenge for the IT leaders across all industries.”

She added that she would help partners address the IT/OT convergence challenges with their customers.

During her 26-year career, Anderson held roles at Riverbed Technology, Entrust, Symantec, Ubizen, RSA Security and Cisco.

“Terrie has a wealth of in-depth security knowledge and experience at a strategic level coupled with strong relationships in the market, which is a perfect fit for Forescout,” said Steve Redman, vice president and head of sales for Asia Pacific and Japan.

“[She] has worked with local and international governments and organisations on how to get the best out of their infrastructure for a secure posture and competitive advantage, which will be fundamental to assisting Forescout’s channel partners and customers.”

Gordon’s appointment at Gigamon meanwhile follows the departure of Ian Teague, who later moved to SailPoint to take on the role of A/NZ sales director last month.
