ACA Pacific Technology has expanded its portfolio considerably through a deal with GCN Group, giving it access to products from over 400 vendors around the world.

Based in Barcelona, GCN Group describes itself as a “multinational coalition of vendors and distributors”, providing local players with an opportunity to scale, operating through its online KATY platform, which ACA defines as a business-to-business (B2B) “initiative digitalising and automating two-tier distribution'.

According to ACA, the deal opens up the distributor’s portfolio to products from over 400 vendors, including those in the hardware and software spaces, which in turn gives local reseller partners access to a broader portfolio of solutions. However, ACA will focus on vendors that complement its existing portfolio.

Mark Gill, ACA Pacific Australia country manager, claimed the deal was a “pivotal” development for the distributor.

“Partnering with this dynamic and innovative IT Group significantly enhances our solutions portfolio while extending our reach globally," he said.

GCN chief revenue officer Angelamaria Bova said its parent company, ACA Pacific, already has a relationship with the coalition, referring to it as one of its “key distributors”. ARN understands that ACA has established relationships previously with GCN in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

In addition to gaining access to its vendors, Gill also added that ACA Pacific Australia will use KATY and is targeting a digital transformation journey to integrate operations on the platform, with progress expected in early 2024.

That being said, KATY is not replacing any of ACA's existing systems but is viewed as an additional tool.

“This represents a significant effort that accelerates and eases market access, particularly for Software as a Service and other annuity-based revenue streams,” Gill said. “In effect, KATY means automation of billing, provisioning, and other crucial reseller tasks – allowing our resellers to focus their efforts on value creation rather than administration.”

Last month, ACA signed a distribution agreement with US-based IT services provider Quantum for its storage solution Myriad in Australia.
