Fujitsu inks global reseller agreement with Megaport

Aims to improve platform choice and simplify Cloud provisioning through alliance

Fujitsu has signed a global reseller agreement with elastic interconnection provider, Megaport, allowing the company to provide its customers with access to a range of Cloud platforms using an ‘on-demand’ provisioning model.

The agreement in Australia will see the installation of a Megaport point of presence in the Fujitsu Malaga (Perth), and North Ryde (Sydney) datacentres. The agreement also positions Fujitsu as the first provider to resell Megaport services in Western Australia.

Fujitsu A/NZ CEO, Mike Foster, said consistent with the company’s hybrid IT strategy, the alliance allows it to offer its customers fast and efficient ways of provisioning connections to Cloud services, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.

The Megaport Fabric also enables customers to directly connect with Fujitsu’s managed services across a globally distributed platform.

Foster said customers can utilise the Megaport portal or API to order direct, elastic connectivity, thereby expanding the reach of Fujitsu’s managed services to additional customer segments and service markets.

“We are continually looking to add value to our customers by maximising the performance, reliability, security and sustainability of our data offering.

“This partnership is the next step in our vision to meet the challenges of digital transformation and support our customers’ needs in an increasingly hyperconnected world,” Foster said.

The Megaport partnership is also aligned with Fujitsu’s datacentre roadmap, which it announced in 2015.

Back then, it outlined its investment in its datacentre capability to keep abreast of evolving customer needs.

Megaport CEO, Denver Maddux, said it is looking forward to Fujitsu joining the Megaport ecosystem.

“Our alliance enables us to address the need for scalable Cloud services in Western Australia, with real-time speed and greater optionality. Having Fujitsu’s managed services available across the Megaport Fabric provides value to our global customers as they execute on their hybrid IT strategies,” he added.
