Synnex Australia has expanded its distribution partnership with Hewlett-Packard (HP) to include the vendor’s Enterprise Group.

HP’s enterprise product set spans from converged systems to the Cloud, including servers, storage and networking components.

Synnex has been working with HP’s Personal and Printing Systems (PPS) business for about ten years.

It first stocked business and professional notebooks from the formerly named Personal Systems Group (PSG) and multi-function printers from the Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) before HP consolidated the two.

In 2009, Synnex added HP’s consumer and commercial desktop ranges to its line-up.

The addition of HP’s enterprise portfolio makes Synnex more of a one-stop-shop for resellers working with the brand.

Synnex Australia chief executive officer (CEO), Kee Ong, said the combination of the distributor’s long-term partnership with HP and the inclusion of the Enterprise Group enables it to provide the best support to resellers.

Despite already carrying competing server, storage, and networking vendors, Ong said the HP enterprise products would be complementary as it forms more of a solution than product sale play.

Ong also revealed that the distributor intends to hire additional staff to cater for the HP account. It currently employs one HP enterprise specialist and BPSA, and is looking for another BSPA as well as a pre-sales team.

The move is the next big thing for Synnex following the launch of its automated logistics centre in the Western Sydney suburb of Lidcombe which is expected to boost vendor and reseller competitiveness.
