Palo Alto Networks promotes Bryan Stibbard to A/NZ channel chief

Former chief Stephen Milthorpe takes on APAC role

Cyber security vendor Palo Alto Networks has promoted Bryan Stibbard to director of channels and alliances for Australia and New Zealand.

Stibbard previously spent the last three years as Palo Alto Networks' national sales manager for major and federal accounts.

According to the vendor, he and his team will be responsible for helping build successful partner relationships across A/NZ.

Before joining Palo Alto Networks in 2015, Stibbard spent five years as area vice president for data protection and information management software vendor Commvault. During his 22-year career, he also held senior roles at Sophos and Symantec.

“Much of what I’m going to focus on is not just the reselling of products but about the path to profitability and making sure that those who have invested in Palo Alto Networks are getting their reciprocal value," Stibbard to ARN.

"I’m not looking to shake up the entire channel. I have a holistic view of our customers and obviously clients are going through some very big changes in their own environments, and there are a lot of security partners they’re working with. It’s about how are they providing security across their internal networks."

Based in Melbourne, Stibbard replaces Stephen Milthorpe, who has moved to Singapore to take on the role of director of sales strategy for Asia Pacific.

The changeover took place in November last year, with Milthorpe now responsible for strategic sales initiatives across APAC.

According to Palo Alto Networks, Milthorpe is working closely with the APAC and corporate marketing and product teams on the company’s go-to-market execution.

Milthorpe originally joined the company as director of A/NZ channels in September 2016. Before then, he spent nearly 10 years with NetApp, holding the role of APAC partner technical teams director - also from Singapore - until departing in May 2016.

Meanwhile, another former NetApp A/NZ executive, Michael Steer, has taken over Stibbard's role as national sales manager for major and federal accounts.
