Former HPE partner manager joins Dell Boomi

Nicholas Lambrou lands newly created role as Dell Boomi managing director

Former Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) channel and strategic accounts national sales manager, Nicholas Lambrou, has landed a new job as managing director for Dell Boomi.

The newly created role is a part of the vendor's investment into the A/NZ region and will see Lambrou drive revenue and customer adoption in A/NZ.

Lambrou will report to APJ managing director, Michael Evans, who said Lambrou's experience and understanding of the A/NZ region, will be invaluable in helping to continue the company's momentum and expanding its footprint in the region.

Back in August, Lambrou left his post at HPE, and covered a variety of roles during his 17 years with HP and HPE. He has also previously worked at Gateway, NetComm and Lexmark.

Lambrou said in the next three months he will focus on the local business, reviewing its operating relationships with customers and partners, and driving its strategy.

“This also includes expanding the general awareness around the role and benefits integration provides to transformation programs," Lambrou said. “Having spent a long period at HPE, I was looking to become part of a company that is innovative and operates within a market that has a strong growth trajectory."

Boomi has continued investing in regional resources, tripling its headcount in the last 12 months with intent to further double the APJ team by the end of 2018.

Lambrou joins the Dell Boomi team locally following the appointment of David Tavolaro as new vice president of business development in January, with the remit of building the vendor’s growing global partner channel.

From a channel perspective, partners have been a vital part of the company’s success to date, leading to a growth of more than 50 per cent in 2016.

Furthermore, the business expanded its footprint in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) with three new senior hires in December 2016, designed to cater for strong local demand for cloud-based integration Platform-as-a-Service (iPaaS).

As reported by ARN, the appointments comprised of Michelle Grange and David Flaks, who joined the vendor as enterprise account executives, and Richard Snowden, who filled the role of inside sales executive.

Recently, Dell Boomi was selected by Flinders University following a tender process to use the platform-as-a-service (PaaS) company’s integration tools as part of its digital strategy.

The project will require more than 100 Boomi integration points to replace legacy integrations that were coded up to 10 years ago.
