Outcomex has unveiled plans to expand Cisco capabilities across Australia, as the system integrator doubles down on investment in Victoria.
Following a series of customer wins, the Sydney-based business has moved into a purpose-fit new office in the heart of Melbourne, bolstered by sales and technical hires.
Local operations will be headed up by Ben Blaschka, who comes on board as Victoria branch manager, joining from Thomas Duryea Logicalis.
In drawing on 15 years of industry experience, Blaschka is tasked with leveraging his knowledge of the Cisco ecosystem, with expertise across infrastructure deployments and professional services.
With more hires to follow, Outcomex has also recruited two senior solution architects, with Tim Lewin and Lincun Qian joining from Thomas Duryea Logicalis and Netstar Australia respectively.
Lewin brings over 33 years of experience in IT working for various technology integrators locally, while Qian is a triple Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) in routing, switching, collaboration and data centre.
Furthermore, account manager Daniel Quattrocchi has relocated to Melbourne after having worked at company headquarters for four years, with the Victoria team set to be augmented by a rotation of Sydney-based engineers and practice leads.
“The expansion of Outcomex’ footprint in Melbourne stemmed from the realisation that there was an unfulfilled need for a solid hyper-specialised Cisco partner in the Victorian marketplace,” Outcomex general manager Gerhard Zaayman told ARN.
“This investment allows for further organic growth in the Outcomex business, as well as the deployment of highly skilled engineering resources through the southern areas of the country.
“Echoing success in New South Wales, the Melbourne branch will be focused on engineering capabilities with commercial support (sales).”
According to Zaayman, the solutions provider currently comprises of 75 per cent technically certified engineers, of which 45 per cent hold CCIE competency.
Through specialising across networking, data centre, security, collaboration and managed services, the business also houses a large number of senior technical resources, certified across NetApp, F5, Commvault, Citrix and VMWare, alongside Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
The expansion follows the recent appointment of David Naylor as Telstra alliance manager, recruiting the telecommunications specialist from the tech giant.
As reported by ARN, Naylor was most recently business development executive at Telstra, specialising in strategic management and planning.
During this role, Naylor helped developed three main work streams, including Connected Car and the Showroom of the Future, alongside a vehicle stock take solution.
Naylor joins at a pivotal time for the Sydney-based system integrator, which has doubled in size and revenue during 2017.
From a Telstra perspective, the alliance is integrated in Outcomex’s global strategy, which seeks to establish a vendor-based community focused on delivering holistic IT solutions.
