Managed IT services provider, RDP-IT Services, has merged with data specialist firm, Business Intelligence Group Australia (BICG), in a bid to fast track the combined company’s analytics practice.
After setting up shop less than a year ago, RDP-IT CEO, Rob Delli Priscoli, told ARN the merger represents a “win-win” for the combined entity, allowing for increased alignment between both businesses.
“We have grown so quick, and the opportunities are growing,” Delli Priscoli said.
“I was working with one of our partners, BICG, that’s all about software - business intelligence and CRM - so my infrastructure, managed services, and recruitment business fit very well into its model.
“Rather than duplicating assets, I thought we should merge the back-end and create two separate brands, but under the one company.”
Operating as a Microsoft and ShoreTel partner, RDP-IT provides IT consultancy and recruitment services, working closely with Dicker Data, Ingram Micro and Westcon-Comstor in Australia.
Meanwhile, Microsoft gold partner, BICG, specialises in business intelligence, SharePoint, cloud and managed services and IT consultancy.
"BICG’s proven designs and methodology allows businesses to get their data concepts established quickly," BICG director, Cody Middlebrook, added.
"With RDP-IT’s managed services and resources backbone, customers can now lower the ongoing risk of running the build, operation and maintenance stages of their high value data projects."
According to Delli Priscoli, the merger is expected to quadruple its current revenue number, but also bring access to more than 300 engineers across Australia and an additional 80 clients to the group’s portfolio.
“It’s bringing two strong forces together to deliver what customers want," he said.
In addition, Delli Priscoli said RDP-IT will benefit from BICG’s strong partnership with the NSW Government.
“It has done so much work with the NSW Government, in the business intelligence and predictive analytics space," he added.
"We’re now designing all of their dashboards, reporting, and data warehousing. We’re doing this in NSW Education and NSW Health."
The merger of both companies will see no staff let go, with the company currently on a "growth spurt", hiring people across business intelligence consulting and systems engineering.
"We’ve actually brought more staff on board," he said. "We’ve employed about 15 per cent more people in the last few weeks because of our growth. We’re in growth mode.”
In the near future, the combined entity will be developing marketing programs to educate businesses in business intelligence.
“We want to show customers what BI [business intelligence] is all about and what it can do," Delli Priscoli added. "It is an untouched market in Australia and we can help businesses understand their data.
"Next year is going to be a big push into business intelligence and our partners will be a big part of our strategy moving forward."
