Backup and disaster recovery vendor, Veeam, has shaken up its local channel team by naming a new head of channel and promoting its existing channel boss to an alliances role.

The Switzerland-based company has promoted Amaury Dutilleul-Francoeur to be its new head of channels and cloud in Australia and New Zealand and promoted Peter Bender to run the company’s alliance partnerships in the local market.

Dutilleul-Francoeur has been with the company since January 2015 where he worked in Veeam’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) business first as a business and market analyst and then as global director of business analysis and sales efficiency. Both roles saw him based in Paris, France.

This is Dutilleul-Francoeur’s first experience of the trans-Tasman market and the company said he will leverage his experience in Veeam’s more mature markets to drive growth in the A/NZ channel.

Veeam’s former head of A/NZ channels, Peter Bender, will now head up the company’s local alliances where he will deal with technology partners such as Microsoft, VMware, NetApp, HPE, Cisco and Dell/EMC among others.

Bender has been with Veeam since 2014 where he was first Microsoft alliance manager before moving into the role of A/NZ channel and alliances manager.Prior to joining Veeam Bender held leadership roles at CSA, Microsoft and IBM.

Commenting on the new appointments, Veeam VP A/NZ, Don Williams, said the company had seen a 21 per cent increase in total revenue bookings for 2016, which it attributed to the strength of its partnerships, alliances and channel relationships.

“The appointments of Peter Bender to head of alliances for A/NZ and Amaury Dutilleul-Francoeur to head of channel and cloud for A/NZ reinforce our ongoing commitment to supporting our channel partners to help deliver best-of-breed solutions for customers and clients,” he added.

The new appointments come shortly after the company registered double digit growth in its A/NZ business in its third quarter results.

At the time Veeam president and COO, Peter McKay, said Digital transformation was not just a trend.

“It’s a do-or-die business reality to transform the customer experience and unlock new levels of enterprise productivity which is now at the top of the agenda for CIOs and IT decision-makers,” he said.
