Ingram Micro Australia has been appointed as a new distribution partner for the Veeam Cloud & Service Provider program (VCSP).

Terms of the deal will see the distributor further expand its monthly software rental offerings, providing hosting providers, cloud service providers and managed service providers Veeam solutions in the process.

Veeam’s VCSP program is designed for service providers and assists with migration, cloud, and on-premise backup and disaster recovery-as-a-service.

The deal adds to Ingram Micro’s current distribution agreement with the vendor which includes its software-as-a-service offerings.

The service is also distributed through rhipe, which had been the sole VCSP distributor since the inception of the program locally.

“This latest appointment follows a growing list of vendors turning to Ingram Micro to cope with the increasing demand for hybrid cloud," Ingram Micro Australia general manager of cloud and software services, Lee Welch, said.

“We get approached every day from partners looking to enhance their business models and hosting capabilities.

“I am therefore delighted Ingram Micro has expanded our relationship with Veeam, allowing us to now offer our partners even more flexibility and choice of rental or perpetual (opex versus capex) licenses.”

Currently, Veeam solutions are used by 205,000 organisations and 12,400 service providers worldwide, protecting more than 11.8 million virtual machines.

"We’re delighted to strengthen and reinforce our relationship with Ingram Micro to help support Australian businesses maintain availability to their critical services and data," Veeam Software VP A/NZ, Don Williams, added.

"Ingram Micro Australia has been Veeam’s most successful traditional license distributor within A/NZ. As they grow their cloud play locally it was a natural choice to extend the VCSP program to them and leverage their significant market reach."
