Hybrid wide area network (WAN) provider, Silver Peak, conducted a six-vendor interoperability demonstration at New York University as part of Open Networking User Group (ONUG) Fall 2015.
The demo aimed to exhibit the flexibility of the Silver Peak Unity EdgeConnect SD-WAN solution and showcased a deployment scenario that included the use of infrastructure, security and Cloud solutions from Nutanix, Infoblox, Zscaler, Pluribus and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Silver Peak senior vice president of products, Damon Ennis, said by enabling interoperability with Nutanix, Infoblox, Zscaler, Pluribus and AWS, customers can benefit by having more options to connect, secure and scale their branch offices.
“We are excited to show how we have taken our Unity EdgeConnect solution to the next level by enabling customers to build a broadband WAN that interoperates with industry leading networking, infrastructure, and Internet security technologies.”
The Infoblox Silver Peak Unity EdgeConnect DHCP and DNS forwarding supports centralised Infoblox deployments in either a Datacentre or regional hub. The company said it enables centralised, scalable management of DDI services and is transparent to end users and applications.
Silver Peak’s virtualised EdgeConnect, deployed on Netvisor, offers native integration of WAN and datacentre network virtualisation. It also said the Zscaler integration allows for secure Internet access by scanning all traffic between appliances and the Internet and block potential threats.
The vendor said AWS enables customers to extend an SD-WAN footprint into the Cloud and extend the SD-WAN fabric into new geographies where an organization's physical site may not exist.
At the event, 16 vendors were highlighted as they conducted proof of concept (PoC) demonstrations as part of the Virtual Networks/Overlays and SD-WAN working groups, which completed product feature verification testing earlier this year.
