Riverbed Technology introduces new portfolio of professional services

Application performance infrastructure company, Riverbed Technology, has introduced a new portfolio of professional consulting services in an attempt at helping customers maximise the value of their Riverbed solutions for improved business performance.

It has launched three new offerings for customers to leverage the Riverbed Application Performance Platform and optimise application performance for visibility and control within their increasingly complex hybrid IT environments.

These new professional services offerings include:

  • A technology adoption service that integrates a customer’s technology investment into best practice operational processes by linking key performance indicator (KPI) improvements enabled by Riverbed solutions to their desired business outcomes.

  • Optimisation assurance service for Riverbed SteelHead, which assesses and recommends changes to maximize performance of critical applications. The service also provides troubleshooting and change management guidelines.

  • An application analytics and diagnostics service that lets customers continually improve the performance of targeted on-premises, SaaS and Cloud applications. The service is available to both current and prospective SteelCentral customers, and includes baselines to understand current performance; troubleshooting and root cause analysis to isolate and correct problems; and performance trending to help prevent future problems from occurring.

Riverbed Technology professional services vice-president, Joel Hofman, said the nature of today's hybrid enterprise gives CIOs greater flexibility in terms of hosting applications on-premises or in the Cloud and delivering them to employees and customers via private links or, increasingly, the public Internet. But he added that these hybrid environments are difficult to manage.

“The services industry is shifting its focus from the delivery of IT outcomes to the delivery of business outcomes that result from IT services.

“With services that focus on maximising the return of strategic value, customers [need to be] confident that their business objectives are achieved, no matter what challenges or changes the hybrid world imposes on their business,” he said.

Hofman added that as organisations strive to balance costs and a scarcity of resources with the need to explore and implement new IT initiatives, it is critical they get every possible benefit from their current technology investments.
