HP launched two new server ranges for the x86 market at its Discover partner conference in Barcelona.
HP South Pacific director and general manager servers and converged systems enterprise group, Raj Thakur, said building technology infrastructure that has innovation, flexibility and the ability to grow with speed is vital to the IT industry.
“Customers can deploy these workloads very quickly in an agile manner. This new style of IT infrastructure that HP is focussing on also helps to transform the data centre by helping growth, improving profitability and increasing agility,” he said.
The vendor said the products are designed to deploy mission-critical workloads in a highly-scalable and cost-efficient x86 environment. HP claims a point of difference through physical partitioning of the system and unrivalled scalability.
The first of the new products is the HP Integrity Superdome X. It is said to deliver four times faster e-commerce transactions than leading x86 platforms.
HP said that it delivers 20 times more reliability, with 60 per cent less downtime than other x86 platforms for stringent service level agreements (SLAs). It claims the product offers 32 per cent lower total cost of ownership, compared with competitive UNIX environments.
The Integrity NonStop X was also announced at Discover. The vendor said it is bringing mission-critical computing capability into an x86 architecture. HP said it is the only 100 per cent fully integrated, fault-tolerant system on the market for the most-stringent uptime SLAs.
The manufacturer claims it offers up to 25x increase in system interconnect capacity. Twice the NonStop CPU density in a single enclosure is said to enable decreased data centre footprint and costs.
