Huawei has launched four new enterprise solutions into the Australian market, products it claims were part of the result of its $US24 billion research and development budget.

The additions include the High-End Storage 18000 series, eLTE Broadband Access Solution, MicroDC, and Agile Network and Agile Switch S12700.

The 18000 series is an enterprise storage system intended for datacentres delivering virtualisation and hybrid Cloud, and promises simplified IT and low carbon footprints.

The platform is scalable to up to 16 controllers, and allows concurrent access from a maximum of 65,536 servers.

The 4G-based eLTE Broadband Access trunking solution integrates voice, video, data trunking, and multi-network applications within a converged wireless infrastructure.

It is intended to provide a shared broadband network for multiple enterprises to exercise control in managing communications. Huawei is targeting the product at the public safety, oil and gas, smart grid, railway, airport, and port verticals.

Huawei’s MicroDC is an integrated micro datacentre which incorporates power supply and distribution devices, cabinets, heat dissipation modules, network devices, servers, security devices, and Cloud operating systems, all bundled with management software.

The vendor said it will standardise branch ICT systems within an unattended facility which centrally monitors and manages environments. Applications include medium- or large-sized enterprises, police stations, schools, small hospitals, retail groups, business offices in the fnance industry, and logistics.

The S12700 series switches use a programmable architecture, and are built with software-defined networking (SDN) in mind. The products contain a Huawei Ethernet Network Processor (ENP) and provide a native Wireless Access Controller (AC). Unified User Management capabilities promise unified user and service management, and Packet Conservation Algorithm for Internet (iPCA) supports monitoring of service flows.

S12700 runs Huawei’s Versatile Routing Platform (VRP) which provides L2/L3 switching services and rich network services, such as Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) VPN, hardware IPv6, desktop Cloud, and video conferencing.
