Mike Foster
Fujitsu has officially appointed Mike Foster as its CEO, following the promotion of Rod Vawdrey to senior vice-president and president of the global business group.
Foster was appointed as the acting-CEO at the time, but will now tackle the full responsibilities that come with the top job.
Prior to taking on the top job, Foster was the group executive director of sales for Fujitsu and was previously the CEO of KAZ Group. He was also the managing director of Telstra’s Business Sales and also worked as the managing director of EMC and NCR.
Under his leadership, Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand will maintain its strategy in key areas including cloud services, applications services, managed services, network services and IT outsourcing.
In December, Fujitsu said it was investing $1.2 billion into cloud research and development, and is setting up six global cloud centres.
“The business has experienced good growth over the last few years and I’ll be continuing the positive trajectory,” Foster told ARN.
He highlighted the cloud as one of its growth planks for the business and indicated further investment into network services.
“We’re in the process of putting a new business unit in place that’s going to be focused on that [network services],” he said. “It’s an area that we can see a good pipeline of opportunities and in the next couple of years, it will grow to a couple of hundred million dollars in business."
