Video management software vendor Milestone Systems has boosted its local presence with the launch of an experience centre in Melbourne, its first in the region.

The news comes less than a month after the company announced its regional headquarters in Melbourne, which was officially opened with the experience centre on 3 October.

Milestone already had an office in Melbourne but saw the need for a newer and bigger space to accommodate its growing number of staff.

The Milestone centre will offer partners and customers an "interactive, hands-on experience", enabling them to try different options and pick the best security solution to fit their needs, according to the company.

“This is a world-leading innovation, which will allow partners, service providers and customers the opportunity to define exactly what they need in a security solution, see first-hand what all the permutations will look like, then walk away with exactly what they need - all from the one location," said Jordan Cullis, country manager for South Pacific at Milestone.

The experience centre will not only feature Milestone Systems' solutions but will also include solutions from nine of its vendor partners.

Specifically, partners will have access to network infrastructure from Allied Telesis, cameras from Axis Communications, Hikvision and Mobotix, servers from Dell EMC and facial recognition software from Imagus.

Also available will be Inner Range's access control and security solutions, Ipsotek's video analytics and storage solutions from Promise.

“This is an important step for security in the region, as it gives us an unprecedented opportunity to work together and bring new levels of flexibility and innovation to the industry," said Wai King Wong, country manager A/NZ at Axis Communications.

"Technology is evolving at a rapid pace, and this is a big step towards harnessing some of that power and bringing it to market in a convenient and effective manner.”

In February, Milestone Systems named Cullis as its new South Pacific country manager.

Earlier this year, Milestone also revealed it had promoted Angelo Salvatore, the company’s former South Pacific country manager, to the position of Asia Pacific regional channel director, making him responsible for growing Milestone’s business and partnerships in new areas across Asia.
