To cater for banking and finance, manufacturing and education sectors' demand

Tech Data has signed a distribution agreement with Israeli-based cyber security provider, Deep Instinct, for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) and the countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

According to Deep Instinct, the partnership was a result of the increasing demand for the vendor's "expertise and capabilities", especially across the banking and finance, manufacturing and education sectors.

“We work with thousands of businesses and know that cybersecurity remains their biggest concern – largely because they are dealing with the unknown and no longer have confidence that traditional security solutions can protect against that,” Tech Data Asia Pacific president, William Chu, said.

“Working with Deep Instinct, and in the face of increasingly sophisticated threats, we can now combine our expertise with security technology that goes beyond the limitations of machine learning to deliver ground-breaking prevention for customers - before it’s too late.”

In late 2017, Deep Instinct announced it was entering the Australian market as part of its global expansion strategy in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

The vendor has just announced new product capabilities including a macOS solution, which it claims to be the first in the industry to use a deep learning-based model, advanced endpoint protection features based on deep learning supporting multi-tenancy infrastructures for managed security service providers (MSSPs) and additional value-added threat intelligence services.

Tech Data is the distributor of more than 30 vendors in Australia. Among the security providers are Commvault, Forcepoint and Trend Micro.

The most recent distribution partnership announced by Tech Data was with the education technology provider, Lightspeed Systems, which saw the distributor gain access to the vendor’s portfolio of school IT solutions.
