Partner Wholesale Networks brings on new tech talent for Optus onboarding

New appointment to ensure the business successfully on-boards its Optus Wholesale Cloud-UCX product

Partner Wholesale Networks has taken on former NEC Australia Microsoft alliance practice lead, Tim Pagram, as its new general manager for sales in a bid to smooth the on-boarding of its latest Optus offering.

Partner Wholesale Networks director, Graeme Kelly, said that Pagram had been appointed to ensure the business successfully on-boards the Optus Wholesale Cloud-UCX product.

According to Pagram’s LinkedIn profile, he stepped into the role late last year.

Optus Wholesale launched its BroadSoft-powered, cloud-based Unified Communications (UC) offering, dubbed Optus Cloud-UCX, for local service providers in September last year.

Partner Wholesale Networks revealed in January it had secured partners, Essene Group and Members Telecom, amongst its first distributors for the Optus Cloud-UCX offering.

At the time, the company said that Members Telecom had already signed a leading Real Estate company as an end-user of the service.

“This really is a market leading product. And as the first BroadCloud provider in the Australian market outside of Optus Loop, and as one of the first wholesale providers to bring this solution to market, we are enjoying our early mover advantage. We expect to announce another significant partner alliance in the coming weeks,” Kelly said at the time.

Now, the independent wholesale network provider of voice, data, cloud and unified communications services, is set to scale its offering.

“Tim will ensure that we continue our successful integration of the Optus Cloud-UCX solution, including hardware procurement and app integration – something that requires a maintained focus within the business,” Kelly said,

In his new role, Pagram will be instrumental in ensuring the company can scale to effectively ensure that it maintains a position of being first to market with the BroadCloud product.

The role also sees Pagram responsible for growing the company’s channel nationally.

Pagram comes to the role with decades of experience in the local tech landscape under his belt. Prior to his new role, Pagram held the role of senior vice president, sales at Incoming Media and, before that, was NEC Australia’s Microsoft alliance practice lead. He has also done time at Lumata, iTouch, Alacatel-Lucent, Samsung and Ericsson.

Pagram’s appointment, along with several senior executive announcements to be made this year, is expected to increase Partner Wholesale Networks’ executive capabilities and underpin the company’s growth strategy.
