Fuji Xerox Printers' David Borg
Fuji Xerox Printers’ dealer general manager for A/NZ, David Borg, is set to leave the company at the end of November to embark on “new projects”.
While Borg has only been in his current role, which sees him head up the channels business in the local market, since January this year, he began his professional career with the company in 1993, when he made the move to join the Xerox sales academy.
For more than a decade he held various sales roles with Fuji Xerox in Australia, eventually becoming Fuji Xerox Printers’ general manager for Australia and New Zealand in 2009, a role he held until the end of 2016, after which he became the company’s APAC channels GM.
Borg flagged his impending departure in a LinkedIn blog post published on 27 November, reflecting on his tenure with the company.
“Back in 1993, I responded to an advertisement in the newspaper to join the Xerox sales academy,” Borg wrote. “I can still remember it clearly - it was a Superman flying up the side of a building with a fax machine tucked under one arm.
“24 years, and literally several hundred thousand printers later, an amazing set of relationships, an education that is invaluable and cultural exposure across 12 countries; Fuji Xerox has been a wonderful company to work for and the impact it had has been life-changing,” he said.
According to Borg, his one “crucial” decision to stay with the company over such a long time has proven to be a wise decision that saw him given opportunities across a number of parts of the business.
“But like everything, there comes a point where it’s time to take on new challenges and as such my last day with Fuji Xerox is Thursday 30th November, and I will be sharing my exciting new projects 1st December, 2017,” Borg said.
“A big thank you to the management team that believed in me and invested in me - the skills I have now will enable me to maximise all the opportunities that lay ahead.
"Finally, my most sincere thank you goes to the hundreds of channel partners that have supported our business - this would be undoubtedly the area that taught me the most about the fundamentals of business. There have been some truly inspirational efforts as we worked towards our collective goals together," he said.
ARN understands that Fuji Xerox Printers currently has no plans for a replacement to step into Borg’s role once he vacates it.
