rhipe ramps up Microsoft partnership

Microsoft appoints rhipe as a globally managed licensing partner.

Rhipe has taken its partnership with Microsoft to the next level, with the vendor appointing the Aussie cloud software distributor as a globally managed licensing partner.

The company has a longstanding relationship with the vendor, claiming to be one of the leading indirect Cloud Service Provider (CSP) program partners for Microsoft across the Asia Pacific region.

In April 2015, Microsoft named Ingram Micro and rhipe as the first Australian distributors to roll out the second phase of its CSP program. It has since been almost two years since the Australian-listed  cloud software company launched its Indirect CSP program in Australia.

The second phase of the program rollout opened the way for traditional resellers to gain access to Office 365, Dynamics CRM Online and Azure from Australian data centres for its customers.

Rhipe was appointed by Microsoft as an authorised wholesaler of its public cloud offerings in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines, for services including Office 365, Windows InTune, Azure, EMS and Dynamics 365.

Now, with its new partnership status, rhipe claims to be one of just eight globally managed partners in the vendor’s channel ecosystem, and the only one to be headquartered in the Asia Pacific region.

On 8 May, rhipe told shareholders that the CSP program continues to grow fast, and has seen the company drive consumption of over 117,000 Office 365 seats across the Asia Pacific region.

As at the end of May, rhipe reached $20 million in annualised revenue from the CSP program, with over 700 transacting partners, a big jump on its figures for the same period the previous year, which saw $4.6 million in annualised revenue and 340 transacting partners.

“We’re pleased with our Indirect CSP momentum across the Asia Pacific region,” rhipe chairman, Mike Hill, said. “In less than two years we’ve built a $20 million revenue stream.

“It is these results, and the constant innovation that our management team continues to drive that have resulted in rhipe now joining an elite group of partners managed globally by Microsoft, both are fantastic milestones for rhipe,” he said.
