Insight promotes from within to replace Andrea Della Mattea

Mike Morgan takes regional reins as Insight fills Asia Pacific leadership gap.

Insight Enterprises has appointed Mike Morgan as vice president and managing director of Asia Pacific, promoting from within to replace the outgoing Andrea Della Mattea.

With Della Mattea set to commence a channel-focused role with Microsoft on 1 July, Morgan will move up the ranks to take charge of regional operations on 3 July.

Morgan’s promotion comes less than four months after Morgan joined the technology provider, replacing Matt Hendra as general manager of Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

“Mike brings deep industry experience to Insight having worked in various sales and management roles at Empired Limited and Oakton companies over the past fifteen years,” Insight Enterprises president and CEO Ken Lamneck said.

“We believe his deep background around professional services and software, combined with his passion for innovation and drive for results will serve us well in this important region.”

Having ran the local Empired business for over two years, Morgan previously held management roles at Intergen and Oakton.

“Since joining Insight earlier this year I have been thoroughly impressed by the talent within our organisation, our ability to deliver high impact technology solutions and services at a global scale and the incredible reputation our business has with our clients and partners across the region,” Morgan said.

“I couldn’t be more excited to step into the APAC leadership role and look forward to continuing our purpose to build meaningful connections to help businesses run smarter.”

Morgan’s appointment follows news that Della Mattea - who was inducted into the ARN Hall of Fame in 2015 - will become the new vice president of Asia Pacific at Microsoft, leading the vendor’s business across the region, including over 2,000 employees and more than 11,000 Microsoft certified partners.

As reported by ARN, Della Mattea will be responsible for all of the vendor's product, service and support offerings across the region, which includes Bangladesh, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
