The Missing Link gets set for interstate expansion

Opens new office in Melbourne

Sydney-based IT services and solutions company, The Missing Link, has expanded its local presence with the opening of a new office in Melbourne. This is the first office the company has inaugurated in that region, based in Hawthorn.

The Missing Link managing director, Alex Gambotto, said the expansion is a result of the company’s rapid growth within the company and demand from new and existing clients in the region.

“We’ve always worked nationally, but now demand for our services has increased enabling us to have a permanent footprint in the city. We’ve already established a strong team of Sales and Technical staff who have hit the ground running, meeting new prospects and introducing themselves to current clients,” he said.

“We’ve had our Sydney HQ in [Sydney suburb] Artarmon for twenty years this year. In that time our company has grown substantially, first with the acquisition of Inform Solutions in 2003 followed by Artis Infrastructure Group in 2011 and in 2013 when we launched our Security services.”

According to Gambotto, expanding the company’s footprint will further strengthen its position in the market and allow it to service new and existing Melbourne clients better.

“Our investment in a Melbourne office has been on the table for a long time. Recent activities like the overwhelming interest in our new ASD 4 as a Service offering means the time is right. It’s still early days, but we hope to grow our Melbourne staff soon.

“The investment will strengthen the company’s capabilities with some new staff already set up and ready to roll out solutions efficiently without the restraints of geography. The expansion will focus on growing the company’s client base and nurturing current clients,” he added.

The Missing Link recently enhanced and expanded its cloud platform in August last year, replacing NetApp technology with Nimble Storage.

“After a number of meetings, Nimble ended up coming to the party and providing us with an all-flash array which we could replicate in our disaster recovery site in Melbourne as well,” The Missing Link operations director, Daniel Forsythe, told ARN previously.

In July last year, the company made headlines for taking home the Rookie Partner of the Year award during the Asia-Pacific Fortinet Partner Business Retreat in Chengdu, China. The Missing Link nabbed the award for its significant customer wins, especially within the security space.

“Our adoption of Fortinet’s security solutions was a highly significant initiative on our part," The Missing Link Security director, Aaron Bailey, said then.

"Our decision to standardise with Fortinet as our security vendor of choice has been amply rewarded with increased sales and, now, international recognition."
