Dicker Data has strengthened its cyber security credentials with the addition of Trend Micro to its local distribution roster.
The two companies have signed a deal which will see Dicker Data distribute the Japanese vendor’s products to its partners in Australia and New Zealand.
“We are pleased to be announcing our partnership with Trend Micro,” Dicker Data chairman and CEO, David Dicker, said. “The market in Australia for security products continues to grow as the threat landscape evolves and changes.
“With many globally-recognised companies experiencing security breaches in 2016, it has further driven the need and awareness amongst organisations of all sizes to ensure their security practices are best-in-class,” he said.
Trend Micro A/NZ enterprise sales and channel director, Indi Siriniwasa, said the vendor was looking to invest and expand in Australia in 2017, and that the partnership with Dicker Data would be a key part of that strategy.
“Expanding our channel focus to reach more mid-market and enterprise customers with Dicker Data will help us accelerate growth in 2017,” he said.
Speaking to ARN in November 2016, Trend Micro managing vice president Asia Pacific, Dhanya Thakkar, said the vendor was focused on making a push into the mid-market and enterprise sectors.
“This is where we are investing heavily in our partner strategy to try and build out the right set of partners that are capable on the network defence side. We are also continuing to invest in the partners that are good with datacentre security,” he said at the time.
As part of this push, Trend Micro has also signed a recent deal with Red Education for partner training and accreditation in the local market.
The deal follows other recent distribution deals for Dicker Data including TeamViewer and Quest Software.
