Dell Wyse continues Aussie expansion with Ingram Micro deal

Strong focus on training and up-skilling to support channel partner growth.

Ingram Micro has been appointed as a distributor for Dell Wyse in Australia, as the vendor continues to expand its reach across the country.

“Dell Cloud Client Computing is investing heavily with both our distribution and channel partners and we’ve seen tremendous growth over the last 12 months in our VDI solution business, from the data centre through to Dell Wyse thin client end-points,” Dell Cloud Client Computing regional sales manager, Ari Palandjian, said.

“Our resources are now focused on accelerating our growth, not only with our traditional distributors Avnet and Dicker Data, but now also with Ingram Micro.

“This is an extension of our global relationship with Ingram and a reflection of the strength in the combined Dell and EMC portfolio’s that Ingram brings.”

Looking ahead, Palandjian - who joined the vendor from Avnet in August - said Dell Wyse’s strategy across the country is based on investing, training and enabling partners within the ecosystem.

“We are running technical training and enablement courses in Sydney and Melbourne over the next two months, so that those partners that want to extend and improve the skills of their staff can easily do so,” Palandjian added.

“Partners that invest time in these types of enablement sessions, experience nine times the revenue compared to partners that do not, so we will continue to work with partners to help build out their technical and services capability around our VDI solutions.”

From a distribution standpoint, Ingram Micro Australia general manager of vendor management, John Brown, said that adding Dell’s Cloud Client Computing rounds out the commercial offerings that the company can deliver to its channel customers.

“We are excited to announce the addition of Dell Cloud Client Computing to our Dell EMC portfolio,” he added.

“This is a great opportunity for us to help partners grow their solutions practice, at a time when end users are increasingly concerned about security, speed and management.”

In addition, Brown said the VDI market offers new growth opportunities for resellers who have the necessary skills to advise clients on virtual desktop infrastructure solutions.

“Enablement and training are key to our strategy as we deepen our partnership with Dell EMC, so we will continue to drive sales and technical training across the entire portfolio, including Dell Wyse Thin Clients,” he added.

“We believe this is a key component to help business partners differentiate themselves in the market and to grow profitably.”
