Hewlett Packard Enterprise extends managed services for Microsoft Azure

Provides customers with end-to-end support for public cloud needs.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise has introduced HPE Managed Services for Microsoft Azure, a set of services from HPE Enterprise Services for design, deployment, delivery, and daily operational support for the public cloud platform.

This builds on a partnership the companies forged in 2015, which saw the signing of a three-year cloud platform initiative to advance innovation in hybrid cloud computing.

The Managed Services for Microsoft Azure offering provides customers access to a fully managed service that addresses the public cloud component of a company’s end-to-end hybrid infrastructure requirements.

Specifically, it allows customers to customise service packages in order to meet particular application characteristics and business needs.

The offering includes management of virtual server, storage, and network infrastructure; service provisioning and de-provisioning, as well as infrastructure configurations management; operations support, active directory management, operating system patching services; and back-up and recovery services, and security services.

In addition, it offers application migration and transformation services, cloud native application development, and a complete set of big data and analytics capabilities on Microsoft Azure, which include data lake setup services, and analytics application development and management.

Microsoft enterprise cloud corporate vice-president, Mike Neil, said, as companies seek to define and implement traditional, private and public cloud infrastructures, IT departments, application owners, and lines of business must contend with a complex array of challenges as they attempt to effectively manage their infrastructure.

“The Microsoft Azure cloud platform is designed to deliver hybrid solutions tailored to the unique needs of enterprise clients," he said.

"This offering from HPE Enterprise Services allows us to provide the right balance of public, private and traditional IT solutions for our mutual customers."

HPE Asia-Pacific and Japan workload and cloud solutions region and practice leader, George Yammouni, added that the company aims to help its clients take advantage of the innovation Microsoft is delivering with Azure.

“With HPE Managed Services for Microsoft Azure and Managed Cloud Broker, we’re able to provide our customers with an integrated hybrid environment that includes traditional and public cloud so they can focus on what matters most – growing their business,” he added.
