Brisbane-based integrator, ITOC, has launched a DevOps-as-a-service practice to meet the needs of its enterprise and government customers.
ITOC CEO, Richard Steven, said the service was designed help the company’s customers focus on their core business and not allocate resources to such projects.
“It allows organisations to focus on their customers and citizens [for Government], and taking services to market without having to worry about the backend infrastructure,” he said.
Steven explained that the company has 15 full time employees, with 10 of those dedicated to the new practice.
ITOC is one of the new breed of partner encouraging customers to utilise Cloud technology in the way it was intended, instead of rearchitecting an entire IT infrastructure in a move to Cloud.
“We call it architecture by exception, where 95 per cent of what the customer gets is out of the box and the five per cent is where the magic happens," he explained.
As an AWS partner, Steven said that while the public Cloud vendor provides the building blocks for DevOps, it does not offer such services, representing an area the company could address in the market.
“There are other partners providing DevOps services but our philosophy is bringing together development technology, security operations, infrastructure and the delivery of applications," he explained.
Steven said ITOC has combined these capabilities with its experience with the AWS platform to deliver the company’s offering.
“We work with developers to make sure they are using the right tools for a certain task and helping them gain feedback through analytics," he added.
“While we use AWS for a lot of that we also have experience with open source technologies and Microsoft products. Microsoft on AWS is a really strong play."
Steven said the company has also launched its Cloud enablement service, which accelerates an organisation’s capability to go to market.
"At the same time we can work with the organisation to ensure that they are taking on board the right culture and organisational changes to make sure Cloud isn’t just a new technology, it is a new way of operating," he added.
