Telstra will launch a new Cloud Management Platform to provide businesses with the tools to operate their hybrid cloud environments in providing a single, comprehensive view of their private and public cloud services.
Customers can also monitor applications as well as automate how workloads respond and scale in-line with business demands.
The platform, which is based on RightScale, features a self-service function, which makes a broader range of cloud services accessible to the business in way that ensures policies and budgets are maintained, while the platform’s analytics identifies efficiencies and helps reduce costs.
RightScale provides analytics, self-service enablement, and a management console across multiple cloud resources.
“Over the last few years, Telstra has invested heavily to bring together our global network, cloud infrastructure and data centre capabilities with public cloud platforms such as, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, IBM Softlayer and VMware vCloud Air1,” Telstra executive director of global products, Michelle Bendschneider, said.
“By combining these clouds with the connection and security capabilities of Cloud Gateway and the management tools from this new platform, we can provide customers with the choice, control and confidence they need to embrace the cloud.”
Bendschneider said the cloud management platform will be available next month.
The telco has been beefing up its technology services capabilities in the past few years through acquisitions such as Readify, Kloud, O2 Networks, Bridge Point Communications and NSC Group.
