Nimble Storage systems engineering director A/NZ, Derek Cowan
Flash storage solutions company, Nimble Storage, has appointed Derek Cowan as systems engineering director for Australia and New Zealand.
Based in Melbourne, Cowan will be responsible for supporting Nimble’s customers and channel partners with both pre-sales and post-sales deployment by providing regional architecture and support services.
He has had 20 years experience in technical support engineering and systems engineering management roles.
Cowan joins the company from VMware where he was systems engineering manager for A/NZ Southern Region. Within this role, he lead the development of a team of system engineers to support overall business growth, partner management and customer satisfaction.
Prior to this, he was consulting systems engineer at IBM where he supported sales to drive growth in enterprise and commercial accounts. Before this, he was senior technology consultant at EMC where he was responsible for fueling sales in storage solutions.
Nimble Storage managing director A/NZ, Bede Hackney, said appointing Cowan is a reflection of the company’s strategy to add specific domain experts and industry technology leaders to ensure that the company is anticipating every technology advantage to bear on the problem of storage infrastructure.
