Telstra Gateway Pro
Telstra has launched the Gateway Pro, a new solution designed for its business customers to keep office devices connected at a high speed.
The telco partnered with Broadcom to use its 4 x 4 WiFi AC chipset. The solution also uses 2.4GHz and 5GHz for dual connectivity of multiple devices on a network and has a dual-core 1GHz processor designed for multitasking. It also uses next-generation Wave 2 WiFi 11 AC technology and MU-MIMO capability with 4x4 antennas.
Telstra said these features allow WiFi speeds to be six times faster on 5GHz than the existing business gateway. It also enables stronger connectivity so multiple compatible devices can be used simultaneously. For example, the WiFi would not be slow in the case of a user streaming video content and downloading a large file at the same time.
Telstra also partnered with Netgear for an appealing design. The Gateway Pro has a high gloss finish and simple panel with fewer buttons on the front aimed for ease of use.
It is available for Telstra customers using ADSL, VDSL, NBN and DOT.
