Technology distributor, Ingram Micro, has appointed Gavin McSherry to the role of business development manager. The company said, in a statement, that McSherry was appointed to drive its Queensland and Northern Territory security business.

Ingram Micro A/NZ physical security division general manager, David Charlton, said McSherry brings a wealth of knowledge and industry experience with him, which he claimed will greatly assist in delivering a very high level of customer satisfaction.

“Ingram Micro’s ongoing investment throughout A/NZ is in-line with our global expansion into the security market. The security and surveillance market is evolving rapidly as solutions move towards IP-based solutions,” Charlton said.

McSherry has more than 18 years’ electronic security experience, mostly in distribution having previously worked for Hills and most recently Video Security Products. He was with Video Security Products as a business development manager for about seven months before he took on this new role.

At Hills, he was CCTC product sales specialist for more than 16 years. He also worked at Pacific Communications, a division of Hills Holdings, in a number of roles.

McSherry said Ingram Micro represents security vendors including Aimetis, Axis, Cisco, Hikvision, Honeywell and Swann, and he looks forward to working with the team as it has a lot to offer the security industry.

“Ingram Micro fits perfectly in to security distribution space, having expertise in IP/IT technology solutions as well as representing the world’s leading security vendors. We have the ability to complement and help grow existing channels and facilitate greater penetration in to the IT & project space,” McSherry added.
