Australian corporate managers are wasting 36 per cent of time on needless administrative tasks, according to a recent report conducted by enterprise Cloud company, ServiceNow.
The study, “The State of Work in Australia” was based on a survey of 300 managers across Australia aimed at understanding the effectiveness of the tools and processes used within corporate environments.
The report found on average, administration tasks consume 14 hours or about two days every week and 95 per cent of respondents said they regularly spend time on administration outside their core job function.
Additionally, findings revealed that 36 per cent spend three or more days a week on admin tasks and 62 per cent agreed that the administrative work leaves them with less time for strategic initiatives.
ServiceNow managing director A/NZ, David Oakley, said the Internet has transformed the way we work and play. He claimed consumer now expect the web to be automated, on demand and always on in their everyday lives.
“The survey found however, that the organisations are still spending considerable time and money on manual administration, which could significantly impact their top and bottom lines. Not only does this routine work cause managers to be less productive, it also inhibits a business’ ability to access one of the most crucial avenues to business growth - innovation,” he added.
