Backup provider Datto expands into A/NZ market

New office and team will be based in Sydney

Data backup and business continuity solutions provider, Datto, has opened an Australian headquarters in Sydney CBD, close to its datacentre in Alexandria.

The company said the new office aimed to meet the increasing global demand for its Total Data Protection platform and now managed service providers and value-added resellers throughout A/NZ can now partner with Datto to to protect their customer’s data on-premise in the Cloud.

Recently appointed Datto regional manager A/NZ, James Bergl, said the Australian IT community is thriving and businesses are increasingly focused on improving their data infrastructure with an emphasis on Cloud adoption.

“Australian companies can now rely on Datto to be up and running instantly after a natural or man-made disaster,” he added.

The company is looking to build its presence further in APAC, said Datto founder and chief executive, Austin McChord.

"Our 160 plus PB global Cloud includes a Datacentre local to Australia, so our partners and customers there will benefit from a fast, local connection to the Datto Cloud.”

The company said it predicts to have more than 100 partners in the region by the end of 2015.
