Microsoft has announced that Australian channel partners BizData, CDM, Empired, Ignia, Mexia, Oakton, MOQDigital, RAMP RFID and Readify will form the core of its new IoT key strategic relationships programme.
Microsoft has said it will be 'making a heavy investment' in these partners as part of its push into the Internet of Things (IoT) market. A Microsoft spokesperson told ARN that, rather than financial investment, it will be more about training, marketing and engineering support through its partner programme.
All of the above partners are existing Microsoft partners, working across various industry verticals, such as health, retail, defence and the mining industry. Readify has already made big moves into the IoT space, winning Microsoft's global partner of the year for its work.
Many of the new IoT applications include asset management, smart building facilities, remote monitoring and predicative maintenance, and the integration of devices, connectivity and analytics through Microsofts ecosystem, which includes the Azure IoT suite, and its other Cloud platforms.
"Microsoft’s IoT partners were selected because they had shown at an early stage that they understood the depth of the transformation that is being wrought by the acceleration of IoT, and by the level of engagement they have in providing IoT solutions for clients," said Lee Hickin, IoT Business Group Lead, Microsoft Australia.
"They are able to make the business adjustments necessary to take advantage of the shift in Enterprise requirements and industrial IoT, and through their deep understanding of Microsoft are able to identify, initiate and manage innovation to ensure that it is deployed through solutions built for scale and agility down the track."
