The newly segmented Veritas has appointed Klasie Holtzhausen to the role of channel lead for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).

The Veritas split from Symantec was announced in September 2014. In April 2015 the Symantec sales force split and the two new teams went their separate ways. At that time Veritas appointed Chris Lin Sales leader for APJ.

Holtzhausen is the latest in the line of senior positions the company has filled and will be responsible for overseeing channel operations across six regions including: Pacific (Australia and New Zealand); Greater China, Hong Kong and Taiwan; India; ASEAN; Korea; and Japan.

Channel managers in each of these regions will report directly to him.

Holtzhausen told ARN that come October 2015, the operational portion of Symantec will be divided in two and Symantec and Veritas would be two separate legal entities come January 2016.

This process will be synchronised across global operations. Holtzhausen said he saw a great opportunity with the new role personally and that partners would be well served by the split.

“Partners are going to get a lot more focus from both organisations,” he said.

“I can only speak for Veritas, we will be very focussed, have a clear strategy on how we will engage with partners and how we will go to market together.

“They will now engage with more people dealing with two entities, but the strategy and clear vision that comes from the separation will be of great benefit to the partners.”

Janet Docherty is set to head Veritas’ channel business in Australia and New Zealand, moving from her current role as Symantec district manager for Queensland and Western Australia.

Holtzhausen said Docherty had been in place since sales teams were separated in the beginning of April along with Veritas managing director pacific, Paul Simos.

“We have been in these positions for a while now,” he said.

“We have been involved in the planning from very early on and have and when we went live as two different organisations, these roles were already formed.

“From a channel perspective, all the positions have been filled in the Pacific [A/NZ] region from day one.”

He said he would be focussed on executing the company’s vision and strategy across each of the six regions he oversees.

“It’s all about making sure the team is very clear on what it is we have to do and what we have to deliver. Looking also at where the market opportunities are in each market. The business will be different in each country and it’s about identifying the opportunities in each and going after them.”
