Ingram Micro has struck a deal to become the sole Australian distributor for HP Software's complete IT management portfolio.
The deal comes just three days after former Dicker Data commercial director, Chris Price, began his tenure as Ingram Micro general manager of HP business.
Price worked at Dicker Data for more than eight years after joining in 2006, following five years at Ingram Micro.
Ingram Micro is now the only Australian distributor to offer the full HP portfolio, including personal computing, mobile and printing products, infrastructure solutions and now HP IT Management software to its channel partners.
The software portfolio includes application lifecycle management tools for mobile and performance testing,through to enterprise-grade business service management, service and portfolio management, and cloud service automation.
Ingram Micro vice-president and managing director A/NZ, Matthew Sanderson, said he was excited to add HP software to the company's portfolio.
“HP delivers great solutions, and is looking at Ingram Micro to accelerate transformation for its customers in Australia with our dedicated team and complementary lines of enterprise technology solution, including a comprehensive HP infrastructure portfolio,” he said.
According to a company statement, the appointment was made following a tender process in which Ingram Micro was identified as the respondent that was aligned with HP’s path to acceleration in FY15, demonstrating clear line of sight of how to grow indirect sales of HP Software and deliver customer success in Australia.
Ingram Micro will be recognised as an HP Value Add Distributor – the first for HP Software in the Asia-Pacific region.
The appointment will enhance the level of service and elevate the level of solutions expertise provided to resellers and partners.
HP Software general manager, Branko Bugarski, said Ingram Micro was HP Australia’s leading hardware distributor.
“In aligning our hardware and software distribution businesses with a proven market performer, we are looking to increase our run rate business, improve partner satisfaction and increase market share,” he said.
Ingram Micro represents more than 130 vendors to a network of more than 8500 active Australian resellers.
Headquartered in Sydney, Ingram Micro has offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, and Advanced Logistics Centre in Sydney.
