Dropbox is making its mark into the enterprise space through introducing its Dropbox for Business API.
It is launching more than 20 enterprise integrations to enhance business collaboration. It support a wide range of IT processes and satisfy industry compliance standards including eDiscovery, data loss prevention, security information and event management, data migration and on-premise backup.
The new API enables integrations with services like CloudLock, Dell Data Protection, Guidance Software and Splunk to address critical enterprise processes including eDiscovery, security information and event management, data loss prevention and digital rights management.
Since its launch last year, Dropbox for Business has grown to 100,000 customers naming Hearst, Hyatt, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, National Geographic, News Corp, Spotify and Under Armour, as some of its top clients.
More than 300,000 apps already integrate with Dropbox, including solutions like Microsoft Office, Salesforce and DocuSign that help users collaborate and work more productively.
Dropbox A/NZ country manager, Charlie Wood, said it was also creating a monetary opportunity for tech partners - resellers or ISVs, to plug into Dropbox and create a joint solution for their target market.
With this API, developers now have access to build into the team-level functionality of Dropbox for Business and administrators can deploy and manage business-critical applications across their team.
