Appoints Paul Hutchings to newly-created lead role

Lenovo has appointed Paul Hutchings to the newly-created role of education industry lead for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

Hutchings will lead the PC manufacturer’s education strategy, programs, and partnerships; education is its strongest business-to-business (B2B) market, alongside (and to a lesser extent) finance and healthcare.

In the role, Hutchings will engage with public and private sector organisations, and develop a dedicated channel network for education.

“As we move into the PC Plus era, laptops and desktops are not the only technologies that schools can leverage,” Hutchings said. “There is an increasing demand for more tactile learning tools such as tablets and convertible devices.”

He claims that beside its LanSchool software, Lenovo is “one of the few companies” which can provide a diverse solution to cater for the evolving education sector.

Lenovo brands Hutchings an education and technology industry veteran on the back of his decade across the two markets. He previously held management roles in the education businesses of both Microsoft and Samsung.

“Paul brings a wealth of insight into the education and technology sectors to Lenovo, which will help guide our approach to introducing Lenovo offerings into school environments,” Lenovo A/NZ executive director, Matt Codrington, said.
