Fortinet expands Australian management team

Network security firm appoints new director of engineering

Network security firm, Fortinet, has expanded its Australian management team with the appointment of Gary Gardiner as director of engineering.

Gardiner will be responsible for the technical leadership and management of the sales engineering team across Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific.

Fortinet vice-president, South Pacific, Kevin Dyson, said Gardiner brought a wealth of technical knowledge and a dedication to customer service that aligned with Fortinet’s mission of allowing organisations to securely build, grow and simplify their IT infrastructure.

"He will also provide support to our loyal and highly capable channel,” he said.

Gardiner has previously worked for Queensland Government, Bridge Point Communications and Standard Life Assurance in the United Kingdom.

Most recently, he was the Northern region sales engineering manager for Check Point.

In addition to supporting the continued growth of the business, Gardiner will be responsible for driving and expanding the engineering team to support the development of Fortinet’s portfolio.

This includes new solution capabilities such as DDoS, Advanced Threat Prevention and other advanced Cloud-based solutions and emerging technologies supporting Software Defined Networking environments, according to a company statement.

Gardiner said he very pleased to join the Fortinet team.

"Fortinet shows vision in the marketplace and I am excited to be a part of its growth," he said.
