Aastra appoints Auroz as new distributor for IP telephones

Partnership Includes distribution of open standard terminals offering interoperability

Telecommunication systems supplier, Aastra, has appointed Auroz as a new distributor, to help distribute Aastra’s full range of IP Telephones, a family of open standard terminals offering advanced interoperability with major IP telephony systems.

Aastra will be wrapping up its distribution partnership with Lan1 as a result. Aastra serves small and medium-sized businesses as well as enterprises with a focus on non-restrictive, open architecture solutions.

Aastra Australia managing director, Tony Warhurst, said, “Auroz’s business model fits in perfectly with that of Aastra’s handset business model, for our SIP and Microsoft Lync handset strategy...Like Aastra, Auroz is committed to its existing partners and helping them grow their sales and revenues within their region.”

He added Aastra is trying to simplify how its channel does business by partnering with flexible and dynamic distribution partners.

Auroz national sales manager, Jason North, said,“Auroz, a wholly Australian owned company, is a Plantronics distributor. Recently Auroz decided to seek a partner that would enhance our product portfolio and meet our customers demand for a broader range of products. We saw Aastra’s range of SIP and Microsoft Lync optimised telephones as the perfect fit.”

He added many of its partners are looking to Auroz to source a broader range of devices to complete their IT solutions.
