IT service provider, Fujitsu, has launched its upgraded datacentre in Melbourne.
The upgrade cost the company $60 million. Victorian Minister for Technology, Gordon Rich-Phillips, attended the launch ceremony.
Located in Noble Park, the facility was built in 1988 and services over 2000 of Fujitsu’s enterprise and government customers. The upgrade focused on security, connectivity, and availability enhancements.
The facility now incorporates four main data halls suitable for cabinet and cage installations. The service provider claims the data centre is one of the most energy efficient facilities of its size in Australia.
“We will continue to invest in ensuring that our customers have access to the best possible infrastructure in the region,” Fujitsu CEO, Mike Foster, said in a statement. “The Noble Park upgrade is consistent with this strategy.
“The facility makes a key contribution to Fujitsu’s global data centre capability, which includes over 100 data centres worldwide.”
