Sage becomes Oracle Database Ready
Business software vendor, Sage Business Solutions’ ERP X3 solution has been granted Oracle Database Ready status through the Oracle Partner Network (OPN).
The announcement means that Sage has tested and supports ERP X3 on Oracle Database 11g Release 2, and at extension, Oracle Database Appliance. Results demonstrated smooth installation of ERP X3 application databases on Database Appliance.
The Oracle Database 11g Release 2 offers Sage industry leading performance, reliability, and scalability to power business critical applications.
Customer benefits of the solution are cost-effectiveness by lowering storage usage, reduced administration tasks, and enabling consolidation onto secure private database cloud environments.
Sage ERP X3 V6.3 is available on Oracle Database 11g Release 2.
OpenText cushions the Microsoft Cloud
Business solutions provider, OpenText, has expanded its global alliance agreement with Microsoft Corporation to include wider support for Microsoft cloud computing initiatives.
OpenText, having added support for Windows Azure with records management and archiving solutions over three years ago, will now have its Business Process Solutions (BPS) Group offering process management and case management solutions on the same cloud computing platform.
Customers will now have more flexibility in OpenText application deployment, with fully in the cloud, on-premise, or hybrid options.
The agreement represents a four-year commitment, where the aim is to offer a full range of cloud-based solutions along with alternative deployment options.
Additionally, OpenText and Microsoft hope to develop industry-specific applications to accommodate for contextual business and user requirements in multiple industries.
OpenText chief marketing officer, James Latham, said, “The Windows Azure cloud opens up a number of interesting new application possibilities while also giving customers more deployment options that will lead to greater efficiency, simplified deployments and lower operating costs.”
The announcement comes a year after OpenText M3 modelling suite achieved Windows Azure competency.
NetApp ranks sixth in 100 Best Companies to Work For
NetApp has ranked sixth on Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list for 2012, making it the company’s fourth consecutive year in the top 10.
NetApp is a storage system and software provider that offers data management and protection services.
Results are gathered through surveys, where Fortune partners with the Great Place to Work Institute to assess employee experiences at their workplaces.
Two-thirds of a company’s score is based on the results of the institute’s Trust Index Survey, and the other third comes from responses to the Institute’s Culture Audit.
The 2012 list contained 280 participants, with Google taking out poll position.
