ASX-listed software firm Whispir has partnered with Amazon Web Service (AWS) to offer internet of things (IoT) to its channel partners and customers.

The software-as-a-service company has integrated with AWS’s EventBridge to create event-triggered integrations on its communication workflow platform without needing to write lengthy codes.

The solution will be available to Whispir’s local channel partners, which includes IBM, Telstra and StartHub. ARN understands Whispir is currently developing an EventBridge proof-of-concept with an unnamed Australian hospital.

According to Whispir, which listed on the ASX last month with a $46-million IPO, the integration allows organisations to trigger a series of responses based on real-time changes in data, assisting in both “crises” and with marketing interactions.

Whispir CEO Jeromy Wells claimed the global workflow automation market expected to reach US$18.4 billion by 2023, adding: “Whispir’s easily integrated workflow automation tools allow organisations to streamline business processes and improve cost efficiencies.”

Based in Melbourne, the SaaS provider claims to count more than 500 enterprise customers in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and North America.

Some of its customers include Walt Disney Company, Virgin Australia Group, Department of Jobs and Small Business, AGL, AIA, The Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA, Takata Airbag Recall, Foxtel and Fire and Rescue NSW.

According to Whispir CTO Jonathan Swift, the AWS partnership has “improved the ease” with which its technology can be adopted by “non-technologists” within organisations.

“Our integration with EventBridge enables Whispir customers to automate communication responses to triggers – if this happens, then send this – without needing to write connection code,” he added. “Access to the full portfolio of Whispir’s event types is available for users to browse and subscribe using an interactive interface.”
