Vertiv’s former regional channel boss Daniel Sargent has joined its partner Natural Power Solutions (NPS) as business development manager for enterprise.

Sargent, who left Vertiv after 13 years in March, will be tasked with expanding NPS’ reach and capability across the power infrastructure and data centre space.

The role forms part of an expansion of NPS' enterprise capabilities in NSW and will see Sargent working with fellow business development manager Matthew Crawshaw.

Having spent several years at global companies such as Unilever and Bausch + Lomb, Sargent became IT manager at Emerson Network Power for Australia in 2006.

Following the company’s acquisition and rebrand to Vertiv, plus a consolidation of its IT infrastructure, Sargent was handed the role of leading its new channel partner program, which he oversaw in various roles over the next seven years

Speaking about the decision to move from the channel to direct sales, Sargent told ARN he “missed opportunity of dealing directly with projects”.

“I now have a whole new box of toys to play and a fantastic number of vendors to choose from,” he said. “I’m a big believer in providing the right outcome for the customer and this is achievable by leveraging the best of each.”

Founded in 1994, NPS employs 20 people across Australia and New Zealand and has physical offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Auckland.

NPS previously focused on power protection solutions, such as computer room cooling. However, it now provides specialised integrations data centre infrastructure solutions to mid-market enterprise across A/NZ and partners with vendors such as Schneider Electric, Eaton, Vertiv and others.

“I learned a great deal from Vertiv and truly grateful for the opportunities they provided me,” he added. “NPS has provided me the opportunity to add my own corporate experience into the organisation and also given me the opportunity to get deeply engaged with the end-customers.”
