Sydney-based managed services provider (MSP) CommsChoice has announced CEO Ben Gilbert is leaving the company.
Gilbert has been the CEO since January 2017, having led the company through its 2017 public listing that took place through a merger of five businesses: CommsChoice; Telegate; Telaustralia; Oracle Telecom and Woffle.
He will step down immediately citing the "burden of travel commitment on his young family" as the reason for his decision.
"Ben has been an integral member of the executive team that IPO’d the business in December 2017, oversaw the successful integration of the five businesses that came together to form CommsChoice and navigated the company into its second year of operation," CommsChoice chairman John MacKay said.
"On behalf of everyone at CommsChoice, I thank Ben and wish him well in his future endeavours."
Non-executive director Peter McGrath has been appointed interim CEO and managing director. He has 30 years of experience in the industry, which includes several years in the telecommunications sector through stints at Telstra, AAPT and Uecomm.
He was group CEO of Nextgen Group, which included Nextgen Networks and Metronode, and was also managing director for Visionstream for eight years.
This week, CommsChoice announced a partnership with VMware, which will see the MSP offer the vendor's SD-WAN by VeloCloud in Australia.
Established in 2008, CommsChoice currently employs 65 people and posted $21 million in revenue in 2018.
