Australian carrier National Narrowband Network Co (NNNCo) has appointed Dicker Data as its first-ever distributor covering the local market.

Dicker Data will have access to NNNCo's enterprise Internet of Things (IoT) solutions which include globally-certified devices and its N2N-DL Data Platform, which is a major part of the carrier's strategy to accelerate market adoption.

“The growth of IoT is accelerating globally in key verticals such as smart buildings, logistics, construction, cities, utilities and multi-site retail," said Rob Zagarella, founder and CEO of NNNCo. "This agreement puts both of our companies at the forefront of enabling the IoT ecosystem in Australia."

NNNCo was established in 2015 in Sydney and provides an enterprise IoT network service and data platform.

Prior to signing the deal with Dicker Data, NNNCo dealt either directly with its customers – which includes Energy Queensland, Gold Coast City Council and Newcastle City Council – or through partners and solutions providers.

"Through their packaged, ready-to-deploy solutions, our reseller partners will be enabled to deliver insights that can create tangible business impact to a wide variety of their end users across multiple market segments with minimal implementation overheads," Dicker Data CEO and chairman David Dicker added.

Going forward, NNNCo expects to push the adoption of its N2N-DL Data Platform which removes the complexity of building and deploying enterprise IoT applications at scale, according to Kat Hunter, head of sales at NNNCo.

"It connects the dots between all the parts from network providers, solution providers, platform providers, systems integrators and resellers right through to end users," Hunter said.

“We’re working closely with Dicker Data resellers who have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by enterprise customers in different verticals."

Dicker has moved into the IoT market for some time now, having signed deals with Australian IoT monitoring technology specialist CCP Technologies and also with IoT vendor Buddy Platform, both deals announced in November 2017.

In July 2018, NNNCo won a deal to help the City of Lake Macquarie transform into a smart city network.

Based on a long range wide area network (LoRaWAN), the project was set to cover 650 square kilometres and be commercially funded through a 20-year contract period - delivered in partnership with economic development company, Dantia and Lake Macquarie City Council.

NNNCo was chosen to install and operate the network based on its ability to deploy low-cost, low-power, carrier-grade connectivity and end-to-end IoT solutions such as water metering and street lighting.
