NBN Co has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Dell EMC, further entrenching itself into the channel ecosystem.

NBN Co general manager of business channels, Keith Masterton, said the aim of the collaboration was to provide support for business customers migrating to the national broadband network (NBN) and help leverage transformative solutions provided by participating vendors.

In July, NBN Co inked key distribution deals with Ingram Micro, Dicker Data, Westcon-Comstor and Aria Technologies, further extending its ICT channel program reach, which has since attracted more than 600 ICT organisations, with 160 of them successfully completing training and certification requirements to become NBN business accredited advisers, Masterton said.

"We’re pleased to announce we have signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Dell EMC, which will be focused on joint go-to-market plans executed in conjunction with our participating program distributors,” Masterton said.

“Through these relationships, we will support ICT professionals to help their customers demystify their NBN access network migration and implement IT solutions to enable their business to leverage technology to achieve their business goals.”

Through teaming up with ICT vendors, their distributors and thousands of partners, Masterton said it was creating a far-reaching channel to provide the education, advice, services and solutions that businesses need as they migrate to the NBN access network.

“Over the coming months we expect to build out our collaboration with ICT vendors to deliver packages and solutions to support small and medium businesses as move to the NBN access network,” he added.

Dell EMC general channel manager, Shant Soghomonian, added the collaboration deal complements many of its other initiatives, such as the Dell Small Business Advisor Program and the recently launched Channel Preferred Program, as part of its go-to-market strategy.

“Businesses of all sizes have had to re-assess their IT infrastructure to ensure they can take advantage of the increased speed and efficiency the NBN access network brings,” Soghomonian said.

“Dell and Dell EMC is working with NBN Co to further strengthen our commitment to enabling small and medium businesses using technology to improve internal processes, exceed customer expectations and meet business objectives.”

In April, NBN Co unveiled a dedicated technology channel across Australia, targeting partners, vendors and distributors to increase network uptake.

Following the launch of a pilot program in December 2017, the channel program aims to provide access to information and support as customers connect to the NBN.

“There is a great opportunity to work together to transition customers to the NBN access network and to ensure their migration is smooth and their experience is high,” Masterton said at the time.
