Former UXC CEO and managing director Cristiano Nicolli has been appointed a non-executive director of IT services provider Empired.
The industry veteran spent 12 years at the Australian IT services company. From 2003 to 2010 he was the CEO of the business solutions group later becoming UXC's managing director and CEO until the company was acquired by CSC in 2016.
Prior to joining UXC, Nicolli held senior roles with Digital Corporation and Compaq Computers, which now form HPE, for more than 20 years across Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Publicly-listed Empired told shareholders on 22 October, Nicolli was instrumental in leading UXC - which is now known as DXC Technology - to become one of the most respected ASX-listed IT services companies.
Before its purchase for $428 million, UXC had annual revenue of $750m, employed 3,000 staff and had made a number of acquisitions in Australia and the United States.
Once the deal was completed, Nicolli retired from UXC and now holds non-executive director roles at Vista Group International and Otherlevels.
“Cris is well known as a highly influential leader and successful businessman across the technology sector, said Thomas Stianos, board chairman. “This, combined with his extensive corporate and ASX company experience, is highly relevant to Empired and I am confident that his contribution will prove to be invaluable to the company.”
Headquartered in Perth, Empired employs more than 1,000 people across Australia, New Zealand and North America and generated revenue of $85 million during the first half of the 2018 financial year.
