Hills has hired Roger Edgar as head of sales in Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ), spanning security, surveillance, IT and ATV divisions.

Edgar replaces Bill Sakellariou, who will be leaving the ASX-listed distributor after more than two years.

Based in Sydney, Edgar will be focused on delivering sales growth on both sides of the Tasman, along with improving the customer experience across the distributor’s branch network.

Hills CEO and managing director, David Lenz, said Edgar’s appointment is key to the company's strategy pf increasing growth across the small to medium sized business sectors across A/NZ.

"Roger will be play a key role as we look to increase the accessibility of Hills’ offering across the region and continue to accelerate our sales momentum with our key brands,” Lenz said.

Edgar brings more than 30 years of sales and management experience to the role, having held senior positions in the wholesale electrical distribution sector in Australia, New Zealand and USA.

Prior to joining Hills, he spent more than three years as the general manager for CNW Electrical across NSW, Victoria and Tasmania, and also worked at Rexel in New Zealand, USA and Australia.

"The consolidation of the antenna business under Roger’s leadership acknowledges his considerable experience in the electrical distribution space and aligns will Hills’ strategy to offer integrated technology solutions," Lenz added.

The appointment comes four months after former Tyco regional sales director for security products, Darren Banks, was brought on board as new general manager of vendor business management.

Meanwhile in May, Hills added video surveillance vendor, Dahua Technology to its product portfolio and also renewed its distribution agreement with IP security vendor, Genetec.
