US-based cloud content management company, Box, has appointed former Pegasystems talent, Scott Leader, as its first regional A/NZ vice president.

Leader was previously the managing director of A/NZ for Pegasystems, a role he held for four years.

He has also previously worked across finance and software companies includes Reuters, Bloomberg, Australian Securities Exchange, NYSE, Euronext and SunGuard.

Based in Sydney, Leader will focus on building Box's A/NZ business, with a specific focus on large enterprise.

Box has offices in Sydney and Melbourne. Outside of the US, the company has multiple offices spanning the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Canada and Japan, in addition to Australia.

“We are on a fast trajectory and we’ve seen great opportunities to grow our business in overseas markets,” Box COO, Stephanie Carullo, said. “We’ve appointed an A/NZ leader to help us capture the enterprise market as it transitions to a digital workplace.”

Some of Box’s multinational enterprise customers include General Electric, Schneider Electric and Komatsu.

According to analyst firm, Gartner, public cloud services revenue is expected to tip $5 billion in Australia, while globally that figure is expected to total US$260.2 billion.
