CommsPlus adds Access4 for cloud-based unified comms

Creates a new partner program to help support Panasonic partners transition to cloud UC

Unified communications as-a-service (UCaaS) provider, Access4, has inked a new deal with Panasonic telephony products distributor, CommsPlus Distribution, to help partners tap into the cloud unified communications (UC) market.

The Access4 platform allows the provisioning of cloud UC and SIP trunking services and enables seamless device procurement with zero touch provisioning of Panasonic handsets via SASBOSS, Access4’s proprietary provisioning system.

As a result, the two companies have created a partner program to support partners to transition to cloud and offer Panasonic customers a true UCaaS offering.  The solution includes the new range of HDV desk phones, existing TGP DECT phones and a new multi-cell DECT solution.

As customers migrate to cloud UC, they can now choose from a range of wireless and corded desk phones.

CommsPlus general manager, Paul Bailey, said that with the move in the market to cloud UC, a number of Panasonic partners found that they were not able to compete across all market segments.

“Although globally Panasonic has launched a series of new SIP desk phones, to date no one in Australia has provided an end-to-end solution for these phones to allow business customers to remain loyal to Panasonic and take advantage of the benefits offered by cloud unified communications,” Bailey said.

“Until now partners have had the option of configuring the phones manually to talk to SIP providers or hosted PBX solutions, but these deployments are limited in their functionality. The Access4 solution will provide a fully supported and feature rich experience allowing customers to utilise the full potential of Panasonic handsets on the Access4 platform.”

Access4 sales and marketing director, Ruy Franco, said Panasonic had a large install base across the country and to date, had focused on hardware-based PBX solutions.

“Customers are ready to transition to cloud and until now, the absence of a true cloud solution for Panasonic has meant changing vendors or waiting,” Franco said.  “Access4’s model is to support the Panasonic partners, which means the end customers’ existing PBX provider will now have the ability to transition and migrate to a Panasonic Cloud solution.”

The solution has been rolled out to beta partners who have been able to activate customers on the platform over a matter of days, in a hassle-free transition that is already delivering results.
